So, it seems the scenes during visits with my grandparents stuck in my mind and are really all I want to paint. Nature has a way of speaking to you like nothing else can. There is something so pure, honest and breath taking about the countryside.
There's also a sadness to it all because the barns have changed drastically. They are modern metal buildings. Barns like the one in the painting, all seem to be falling down, only to be replaced with the metal ones. Ones that have no personality. Maybe they are more functional, but not for an artist!
I guess it's best to capture the memories while you can, food is more important. But, I choose to remember and think of them like this one.
This painting was rendered in acrylic on stretched canvas. It took approximately three days to accomplish, not counting the research and photo hours. Finished on 11/27/ 2015. Thanks for looking.
Hope you enjoy my painting.
